Agility Integration – Analog Surveillance
The pioneer of surveillance was analog communication consisting of coaxial and 18/2 wiring for each camera. Analog surveillance is rated up to 920TVL (TV Lines) and provides a great source for situational awareness. These systems lack the high definition video capabilities of IP Megapixel technology, however they provide a variety of other benefits, including:
• Not limited to Ethernet distance of 100-meters (analog cameras can be extended to 2000’)
• Lower cost to deploy
• Standard based integration allowing virtually all analog camera manufacturers to work with DVR’s
• Less expensive
• Analog cameras can be repurposed with an IP Surveillance system with the use of encoders. IP camera functionality can be extended to an analog camera and wiring can remain in place.
